AN UNEXPECTED VISIT...

As I mentioned before, while we were in San Diego, I did some shopping.  Lately, I have been on a quest for pretty salad plates, napkins and napkin rings, to go with my everyday white dishes.  I have collected a few and am running out of places to store them (along with a few other things - but that's a whole different story).

In the Cottage we are fortunate to have a couple of enclosed sun porches.  One was fixed up to be for Jake when he was a baby.  Since he no longer is - a baby that is - we have decided to use the room for storage.

This is an old pine pie safe that housed our TV set for many years.  The Captain has put shelves in it to hold some of the overflow of dishes.

It was a beautiful morning and I was filled with energy and the sink was filled with hot, soapy water, and I was anxious to carry on with the plan at hand.

Now, this is where the story gets a little mixed up. My plan, starting out, was to post about one final part of our vacation in San Diego, and when I had my nice, clean dishes put away in the old cupboard, that was what I was going to do.

All of a sudden, I experienced a very odd feeling in my stomach and a burning sensation in my chest which moved up into my throat.  I then became heated, jittery and light headed.

To make a long story short, I went to the Dr.s on Duty and an EKG was taken that showed "arterial flutter".  They sent me to the ER at the hospital where they did another EKG which was normal.  After a lot of other tests (all normal) I was admitted to the hospital for observation overnight, where more test were taken and I had a stress test and an echo cardiogram.  All of those were normal, except I showed having a small "flutter" episode during the night which I wasn't even aware of.

This morning I had an appointment with my primary care physician who is going to set up an appointment with a cardiac specialist.

I feel fine and healthy, with no more symptoms so far, so will see what happens after I see the cardiac specialist.

But, that explains an unexpected visit on a day that couldn't be more appropriate for a visit of this kind...Valentine's Day.

Hope all of yours was happy AS expected!

...Judy...

I have the last post about our vacation on ice for a couple of days...but I'll put it out soon and you won't want to miss it.  Too cute!!

  1. Oh Judy, what a scare!! I'm so sorry that happened! I'm glad they kept you overnight in the hospital so they could observe and document everything.

Please take care of yourself and keep us posted, okay?

  3. Judy, I'm so sorry to hear of this health scare. These things really scare me and I had a similar episode a couple years ago but I am doing well on medication now. I wish you all the best and that the doctors will figure it all out for you. God bless and take care. P.S. Your vintage find are wonderful.

  5. I'm glad you are doing better - or feeling better, and I'm so glad you are getting this all checked out. Sometimes these things resolve themselves, but it is best to make sure what is happening. I'll put my little angel up on the sideboard and every time I see it I'll send good fairy and angel thoughts to you. Take care - and I can't wait to see the last of your vacation - the other was so wonderful.

  6. Judy, sorry to hear about your health problems. Let's hope the doctor's figure out what the problem is soon. In the meantime take care of yourself. Like your new storage cupboard. I'm always running out of storage....might have something to do with all the charity shops I go in!

  11. Oh goodness, what a fright. I have a slight problem with cardiac arrhythmia, but many of them aren't dangerous. I hope you get yours correctly diagnosed so you can get back to doing all of the things that you love.

  12. I hope that everything ends up being ok with you. I've had my heart race before for an extended period of time which made me light headed. I had to do the same as you and go to the ER and then follow up with a cardiologist. It was nothing. Just anxiety.
